Cosplay Contests

General Rules

Competitors must purchase a BKCC 26 badge.
Competitors must be at least 12 years of age.
No 18+ content allowed.
Entered cosplays must adhere to BKCC’s cosplay and show policies.
Groups of up to 3 contestants will be considered.
Cosplays which have previously won major awards are not eligible for entry.
If accepted into BKCC’s cosplay contest, you consent to photos being taken and shared by BKCC for marketing purposes for future events.
BKCC staff retains the right to edit any descriptions for stage announcements.
Everything that enters the stage with a contestant must leave the stage with them.
No projectiles, confetti, anything thrown or dropped from the stage allowed.
Contestants must stay on the stage, and will not approach the audience or judges.
This is not a performance contest, all contestants will be allotted the same amount of time and runway.

Craftsmanship Rules

75%+ of your cosplay is made by the wearer or present maker.
Wearer required to do 3 poses on the stage to pre-selected music.
A build book will be required as part of Craftsmanship judging, as well as submission of reference with application.
Pre-judging slots are 5 minutes, times will be assigned prior to the show over email.
Judges reserve the right to bump contestants’ level upon pre-judging session.
Craftsmanship judging attendance mandatory and are eligible for judges awards, and craftsmanship awards.

Hall Contest Rules

You do 3 poses on the stage to pre-selected music.
Hall contestants are eligible for judges awards and hall awards.
